The Government claimed to revitalise Tai O, yet, both electricity and water services were interupped because of a typhoon early this year and the government failed to give any help. Middle part of Lamma Island is beautiful, but without support and resources, it becomes a “preserved” area with only an abandon village left.

The so-called conservated rural areas are indeed being forgotten and this reflects the differences in conservation policy towards urban and rural areas.
