Helen has experienced a lot in her life. She had to work as a apprentice (tailor) to support her family since her childhood, unfortunately, Hong Kong’s textile industry declined and she had to start a new job as a private tutor in the 80s. However, she got serious sickness in later years and lost her job.

Helen lost her job, but she was not defeated. Instead of being pessimistic, she treasures what her abilities and her talent as a tailor. So, under limited resourses, she started to work as a tailor again. With her creativities and hard work, she is able to earn a living and support her family again. She even helps other housewives in her neighbourhood by giving them some of her jobs.

During the preparation of ‘Make Your Own Dress Workshop’, we learnt such an encouraging stories and would like to share it with you all. Please enjoy it.
